Reasons to not give a fuck

Hello again:) Once again speaking of past experience, I know its very easy to base what you look like based on others. This can vary from other's opinions, other's bodies, other's comments etc. This can also vary from whether a boy/girl likes you to your bra size. But why should we give a fuck about other people's hurtful comments? Why should it make us feel like less of a person? It shouldn't. Also a lot of people have unnecessary worries. Worries that parents and teachers have put on us, that we really don't have to worry about yet. So why do we worry about them? Once again we shouldn't. So here are some reasons to throw all of your fucks away:

  • Not everyone has the same body size. There isn't just 5 different body sizes. There isn't 10, 20 50, 100, 500 body sizes. Everyone's body is different, and I really believe that if people just stopped determining beauty on body size, we would all be a lot happier.
  • EVERYONE has struggles. You might not think that the best looking person in the world has problems but they do. Even if there problems have gone now, they had to over come something once. So instead of feeling alone, like the only person who struggles, realise that having problems is jus ta minor point in reality.
  • Don't worry about school. Just listen to what they say, and try to do what they are teaching. If you cant, its fine. Your not going to fail in life if you failed that one science test. Your still going to get to go to college if you drop a set in maths. Getting help is not wrong or embarrassing, getting help is brave.
  • Life is a whole lot easier if we just try to like ourselves. I've been lots of different shapes, and lots of different sizes, but I have never looked at myself in the mirror and liked what I saw, not even when I was little. But looking back on pictures from when I was about 11 or 12, I wasn't fat, I wasn't even that bad looking. I had straight teeth and clear skin, my legs were thinner and my stomach didn't stick out as much. But the more I told myself I was fat and ugly and the more I was told it, the more I ruined myself. You can be size 0 or size 18, if you don't tell yourself that you are beautiful, and you are NOT worthless, you'll spend your whole life thinking you are. Confidence is definitely key.

self harm substitutes:

So, I know from personal experience and what I've been told, self harm is a way to "cope" or "deal" with whatever a person is going through. For anyone who doesn't know what self harm is, hopefully they haven't encountered it, it is an intentional injury to ones self, typically as a manifestation of a psychological or psychiatric disorder.  Whether its a small scratch or a deep cut, self harm is self harm and its best to share your emotions with the people who care about you. Even if you think that no one cares about you, PLEASE do not self harm! It's not a good way to express your feelings, its not going to solve any of your problems. What it will do is leave you with mental and physical scars. I learned this the hard way. Instead of self harming, here is a list of things to do to take your mind away from hurting yourself:

Taking your mind off of self harm:
  • Go for a walk, to clear your head.
  • Clean your room (cleaning is also a great way to exercise!)
  • Think about beautiful things like space, wild flowers and happy places.
  • Drink tea (Or coffee, or hot chocolate. Any warm comforting drinks you enjoy.)
  • Cry (sometimes you just need to let everything out.)
  • Bake something.
  • Read something interesting or just good.
  • Draw. (This really helped me)
  • Paint. (This also really helped me, you could do it on paper a canvas or on your body)
  • Hug someone you love.
  • Just get some alone time/ consult with others (which ever you prefer)
  • Drink lots of water.
  • Get lots of sleep.
  • For the sensation of pain/ anger relief:
  • Snap an elastic band against your wrist.
  • Rub an ice cube up and down your arm.
  • Just scream really loud, or sing really loud.
  • Clap until it stings.
  • Pluck your eyebrows.
  • Wax your legs.
  • Feeling pain wasn't really why I used to self harm, it was mostly to take out my frustration on myself.
  • But I know that there will be a lot of people who do it to feel pain, or just to feel at all.
Hope these help:)-A

A bit about me:

Hello, I'm a 14 year old girl, from the UK. This blog is basically going to be a recovery blog, on how to and how I am recovering. I am in the very, very, very early stages of recovering from depression and very nearly bulimia. I'm really just sick of having to hide and cover up what I used to be and how I've improved and helped MYSELF. So basically I will be offering support through this blog.
If anyone wants to contact me, you can follow me on instagram- @bloody_rosex

Enjoy:)-A
